Practice of Collaboration

Art Practice, MFA, Artist in Residence

As the 2019 Artist in Residence at the School of Visual Arts, I mentored the first-year cohort through my syllabus The Practice of Collaboration. Together we explored our individual creative practices and interests through an investigation of collaboration. Developing a shared vocabulary and language we conceptualized and actualized $, a durational performance that explored the ways in which all those living in the United States are implicated in the complex and demanding systems of economics and Capitalism. $ was performed on the SVA campus as well as in Union Square. This holistically folded into the development of Nocturna. Collaboratively with artists, performers, and painters, we developed a non-linear, site-specific performance work that took place at Crush Curatorial in Amagansett, NY, and was open to the public.
